Artissima 2020: call for applications

27 April 2020 Journal News

The next edition of Artissima will take place from 6 to 8 November 2020 (opening: 5 November) in Torino, under the leadership of Ilaria Bonacossa.

The only Italian fair exclusively focusing on contemporary art, Artissima stands out on the international scene for its experimental, international and sophisticated identity.

Every year it presents exhibits of the highest quality, with a special accent on emerging talents and the avant-gardes, making it an unmissable appointment for all galleries wishing to show their work to an engaged, informed audience: 55,000 art lovers and sector professionals, 5500 collectors and 1500 journalists, 100curators and museum directors from around the world.

In 2020, the fair in Turin will explore the concept of FRENETIC STANDSTILL, examining its repercussions on the world of contemporary art. The theme of acceleration as opposed to inertia, and therefore of a necessary change of our paradigms, ignites the most recent debates. The true response to the crisis of our complex times is profound, considered evolution which might be conveyed precisely by art, which has always borne witness to histories and civilizations in the past, while acting as a catalyst of the most innovative visions.
